With 10 routes in total, each tour will come with offline access to route maps, visual + written descriptions at each destination, along with audio commentary and music.  FairShare is collaborating with a multitude of community partners, farms, and musicians in order to create an engaging experience for people of all ages and abilities.

farms

As you arrive at each farm destination,  listen to audio of those farmers telling you a little bit about the farm you're looking at, what crops they grow, and more.

local musicians

Need a soundtrack for your ride? Don't worry, we've got you covered. Each tour will feature select songs from local musicians.  Like what you hear? Follow the in-app links to support the artists.

community partners

What roles do bees play in the food landscape? What are some common birds songs that you might hear while walking through the city? We are partnering with experts in the community to provide engaging content throughout your tours.

food

Food. Isn't that what this is all about? Each tour will come with recommendations of food providers that source locally, instructions on specific pickup details, and recommendations for some grab and go meals to bring on the route.

This tour begins in Hillsboro, Wisconsin and takes you through the Driftless Region and the historic Black settlement of the Cheyenne Valley. For bikers, several stretches of the route include relatively quiet county highways with limited shoulder space, so ride with caution. This route was created in collaboration with Pasture and Plenty and TradeRoots Farms as part of their Exploring the Landscape Series, so make sure to check out their other events this summer!

“It is pleasant to know that in color, form, and features, we are related to the first successful tillers of the soil; to the people who taught the world agriculture.”
